East Timor, Bali and Japan 2003   From June to December 2003, I lived in Dili, East Timor. In East Timor, I volunteered my skills in GIS and engineering to work on an environmental management project with Care Canada / Care International in East Timor. I was sponsored by Engineers Without Borders. In the middle of the 27 hours of flying it takes to get from Toronto to Dili, there is a mandatory overnight in Bali. Tough!!! Bali is one of my favourite spots in the world, as you can read about in the journal entry 'Bali Beautiful'. I also had two stopovers in Tokyo, and was able to avail myself of a little sightseeing in this fabulous country. Left me wanting more! One day...
